Elden Ring DLC mod lets you fight Miyazaki himself

by NewsB

If you’ve ever been frustrated or angry at a FromSoftware game and needed an outlet, well, I have just the mod for you. In a new mod for the Elden Ring DLC, one of the bosses has been changed, allowing you to fight none other than the president and mastermind of FromSoftware himself, Hidetaka Miyazaki.

Spoilers for the Elden Ring DLC below

Unfortunately, for those hoping to let out their pent up frustration for the brutal difficulty of these games on the man most responsible, that task will be quite the challenge. Creator of the mod, MRRCrychicQing, decided the best boss for Miyazaki to replace would be the final boss of the DLC and hands-down the most difficult in the entire game, Promised Consort Radahn.

The mod, titled “Patches-Consort of Miyazaki,” replaces the war god in his prime with the true god of all FromSoftware… Patches. Patches is a recurring character in FromSoftware games that long-time players will know has a mischievous tendency, often backstabbing and lying to the player, forcing them into uncomfortable and dangerous situations. In the mod, Patches has now grown four times his own size, bulked up to the level of the Hulk, and now wields two Moonlight Greatswords.

If the players can get through the first phase, which is largely the same in principle to the regular version of this boss save for some fun gags like random Basilisk models appearing during certain attacks, then Miyazaki will fall upon Patches shoulders. From here, the fight continues as normal except the character models happen to be one of the most notorious NPCs in FromSoftware history alongside the mastermind of its games.

There are other minor changes to the cutscenes. They play out almost exactly the same except some of the subtitles have changed. For instance, instead of Miyazaki calling Radahan the champion of the festival he calls Patches the “champion who pre-ordered the DLC.” The final end cutscene that plays after defeating the final boss remains unchanged.

No doubt this is only the beginning of many goofy mods for the Elden Ring DLC. It’s only a matter of time before Elden Ring goes the way of Skyrim and all Ghostflame Dragons are replaced by demonic Thomas the Tank Engines or deformed Hulk Hogans.
