Coming to the rescue of one such game, David Jaffe, the early director of the God of War franchise, has mentioned on his official X/ Twitter handle how gamers are missing out on one of the best action shooter games ever.
Released in September 2021, Severed Steel is a unique single-player shooter featuring fluid movement and ‘loads of bullet time’. The level design also has a destructible environment, allowing the player to cause an enjoyable amount of chaos.
The said game is also featured in the current Steam Summer Sale, going for just $4.99 after a huge discount of 80%. Replying to one of the promotional tweets for Severed Steel, David Jaffe stated the following, commending the title and asking players to check out what they have been missing for so long.

The renowned director stated with confidence that the game is one of the best shooter games to be ever made and mentioned how it should have sold millions of copies, a goal that can still be achieved if the word gets out quickly enough.
Alternatively, the game can also introduce a multiplayer aspect within itself apart from the co-op, bringing in a new player base a huge number of gamers who are always on the lookout to try anything new within the industry.

As for the God of War franchise, there remains no official announcement from either Sony or Santa Monica Studio, the creators of the game. However, fans are soon expecting a spin-off title revolving around Atreus to come out soon, bearing in mind how things were left off in Ragnarok.
