MGS Delta: Snake Eater will have permanent damage

by NewsB

The upcoming Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater, the remake of MGS 3, will feature an injury system that will leave permanent scars on the main character.

In case you missed it, in an episode of the Metal Gear Production Hotline, a show centered around the production and development of Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater, video was revealed with commentary showcasing permanent changes to Snake’s appearance.

As Snake takes damage, such as a tear or bullet hole, this damage can either be cured naturally or patched up using the cure system. The damage, however, can be permanent as it leaves scars behind on Snake’s body.

The original PlayStation 2 title is known by fans for its unique and somewhat involved survival and healing systems. The remake looks to push these systems further than was possible back on the PlayStation 2.

In addition, the video also revealed that the environment can also affect Snake’s appearance. Leaves may stick to Snake as they fall and mud can leave stains behind well after they have dried.

The episode went on to discuss many aspects of the remake including the ability to switch camera and control modes, visual filters, and the stitching together of past dialogue in order to serve the new tutorials.

Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater does not have an official release date but is planned to release on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC.
